The landscape of the Scottish Borders covering an area of 1800 square miles is characterised by green rolling hills, extensive forests and wild moorland, divided by beautiful river vallies, the most famous of which is the River Tweed. The river runs right through the region for nearly 160 km from its source above Tweedsmuir to the sea at Berwick upon-Tweed. The section of the Tweed Valley stretching from Melrose to Peebles is where you will find a diverse landscape ranging from forest, hills and wild moorland around Peebles to flat, neatly farmed arable land to the east beyond Melrose.
This variety of landscape offers great potential for exploring this diverse and sometimes wild region by bike. If its calorie-burning climbs you're after with jaw-dropping views at the top we have some great routes for you. Equally if you prefer a more gentle adventure, riding along the banks of the Tweed along routes which link places of historic interest and which frequent some of the best coffee shops around, then we have that covered too!
Our half-day rides vary from 15km-25km in length and usually involve around 2.5 hrs of riding plus time for stops etc. Full-day rides cover distances of around 30km- 45km and normally involve riding time of around 5-7 hours depending on route and terrain.
To get the best out of your experience it is best to discuss fully with Lucy your level of riding and what you are wanting out of the day so we can tailor the ride to suit your needs.
