West Linton Roman Road
Follow the old Roman Road from West Linton to Garvald and return via Medwynhead and West Water reservoir. This road once linked the Roman garrisons at Biggar and Elginhaugh and follows the contour along the side of the Pentland Hills, and is therefore relatively flat but largely unsurfaced. Crossing over vast tracts of moorland this route is big on expansive views and short on climbs - It will be a big hit with those who don't favour the lung-busting climbs.
