Cardrona to The Glen Estate and Loch Eddy.
This stunning ride takes you up into Cardrona Forest following the old Glenpeggy Trail and out onto the moor at the top of Beards Hill where you gain expansive views over Traquair & The Tweed valley. We drop down into the Glen and then ride into the estate to the magical Loch Eddy - a tiny fishing loch with a Victorian boat house. We then return to Traquair along an estate track and then back along the road to Cardrona.
This is a ride for those of you with some experience riding longer trails. Its not too technical – but the traverse across moorland to Loch Eddy is rough and boggy at times. The reward is riding a route that feels pretty remote and takes in some stunning views. If you’re feeling fit, have a crack at it – we won’t be racing but will aim to maintain a sensible, consistent pace so we get round in a reasonable time.
