You are new to mountain biking and have yet to develop your technical skills and confidence.
These rides are typically between 10-15 km, using mainly forest roads and cyclepaths. There may be a bit of climbing – (there always is in the Borders!) but the pace will be slow and there will be plenty of stops.
You have some experience mountain biking and have ridden blue trails at trail centres like Glentress and other 7-stane MTB centres.
You have a reasonable level of fitness and feel confident riding routes of 20-25km. You will be riding a variety of terrain including natural singletrack which may present some mud and roots.
You are a confident mountain biker with a good level of fitness and want to experience riding in more remote terrain.
You are able to ride distances of 25-40km and comfortable carrying appropriate equipment for a day in the saddle. Though there will be plenty of stops, you like to ride a route with good flow and at a reasonable pace. The route could include more technical sections including roots, rocks and boggy ground.
